Good start but definitely unfinished。 There’s a lot of new developments with Rudy that this audiobook does not include。 Will there be an update?

Really good narration of the story of Mr。 Giuliani's troubled association with the Trump admin。 It is indeed a tragic tale of corruption and greed。 This is well worth a listen! Fascinating, thoroughly researched insights into the character and motivations of Giuliani, from before he became mayor to his current day debacles。

For much of his career, Giuliani was eccentric, alcoholic, a wife-cheater and somewhat off center。 It was after 9/11 that he came to the fore as a hero, but soon after went back to his old ways。 Though many would consider this book as "too far left", those of us who have witnessed Giuliani over the years know that much of it is true。 It's worth a couple of hours of time to read about his rise and truly tragic fall。 For much of his career, Giuliani was eccentric, alcoholic, a wife-cheater and somewhat off center。 It was after 9/11 that he came to the fore as a hero, but soon after went back to his old ways。 Though many would consider this book as "too far left", those of us who have witnessed Giuliani over the years know that much of it is true。 It's worth a couple of hours of time to read about his rise and truly tragic fall。 。。。more

Both performance and pacing were lackluster。 it is just a boring summary of what happened during the trump administration and nothing mediocre delivery。 just a waste of time。

I think Mr。 Wolff had a bunch of notes left over from his book on Trump and decided to throw them together into a thumbnail sketch (no more than that!) of Rudy Giuliani。 It's very one-sided but then maybe it's accurate。 Rudy does come across as bat-shit crazy and that can't be all tactics and strategy。 One does learn that even making a million plus a year since 9-11 is no guarantee of happiness。 I think Mr。 Wolff had a bunch of notes left over from his book on Trump and decided to throw them together into a thumbnail sketch (no more than that!) of Rudy Giuliani。 It's very one-sided but then maybe it's accurate。 Rudy does come across as bat-shit crazy and that can't be all tactics and strategy。 One does learn that even making a million plus a year since 9-11 is no guarantee of happiness。 。。。more

Michael Wolff delivers another rousing tale of American Tragedy (tm)。 Starting with such promise, it feels like Rudy believed a bit too much in his own legend, both personally and politically。 This fits perfectly into the most recent escapades supporting our outgoing president's efforts to remain in power。 Rudy's legacy will not be the Mob Killer he was, but Trump's Toady-in-Chief that he has become。 The leader of the failed coup d'etat。 Michael Wolff delivers another rousing tale of American Tragedy (tm)。 Starting with such promise, it feels like Rudy believed a bit too much in his own legend, both personally and politically。 This fits perfectly into the most recent escapades supporting our outgoing president's efforts to remain in power。 Rudy's legacy will not be the Mob Killer he was, but Trump's Toady-in-Chief that he has become。 The leader of the failed coup d'etat。 。。。more

Explains how Rudy went from "America's Mayor" post 9/11 to holding a presser in the wrong four seasons。 A cursory looks that implies rather than stating anything too strongly。 Explains how Rudy went from "America's Mayor" post 9/11 to holding a presser in the wrong four seasons。 A cursory looks that implies rather than stating anything too strongly。 。。。more

Just outstanding。 I listened to this book while cycling over two days and I finished it the day David Dinkins passed away at 93。 While this book didn’t reference Ed Koch, the author’s framing concept— that Rudy has mental illness — fits Koch as well, whereby Dinkins was just a normal guy and unfortunately his single term fell between Koch and Rudy。 Real New Yorkers, before 9/11, couldn’t wait for Rudy’s second term to end — he was just insane and driving us insane with his antics。 Even his behav Just outstanding。 I listened to this book while cycling over two days and I finished it the day David Dinkins passed away at 93。 While this book didn’t reference Ed Koch, the author’s framing concept— that Rudy has mental illness — fits Koch as well, whereby Dinkins was just a normal guy and unfortunately his single term fell between Koch and Rudy。 Real New Yorkers, before 9/11, couldn’t wait for Rudy’s second term to end — he was just insane and driving us insane with his antics。 Even his behavior during 9/11 was vastly overrated — we have 100,000 people in the federal 9/11 health program because of his (and others) failures — and this quick book clearly shows the real Rudy Tuesday。 。。。more

Wolff seemed oddly obsessed with Giuliani's weight。 Listened to this free Audible audio with the images of Giuliani giving that crazed press conference in a landscaping parking lot and his embarrassing appearance in the Borat movie fumbling with his testicles。 It really is a tragedy。 Wolff seemed oddly obsessed with Giuliani's weight。 Listened to this free Audible audio with the images of Giuliani giving that crazed press conference in a landscaping parking lot and his embarrassing appearance in the Borat movie fumbling with his testicles。 It really is a tragedy。 。。。more

I actually listened to this book while walking the dogs, and as soon as I finished, I started over, and listened through a second time。 It’s incredibly well done。 Great research and so eye-opening。 I am no longer in NYC, so I really didn’t pay much attention to all of the drama in Rudy’s life。 I remember how much respect he got after 911 and I couldn’t figure out what happened to him。 This book puts it all together! This is brief yet fascinating examination of the final acts of the Giuliani career from full-time candidate prior to 9/11 to Trump booster and personal lawyer。 The image that emerges is of a bloated alcoholic with ties to corrupt Ukrainians as part of "Ukrainegate"。 It is rather sad and tragic with Giuliani's role in defeating the Mafia and playing midwife to the birth of a new NYC becomes occulted in reprehensible politics and Trump-worship without even the respect of inner circle Trumpists。 This is brief yet fascinating examination of the final acts of the Giuliani career from full-time candidate prior to 9/11 to Trump booster and personal lawyer。 The image that emerges is of a bloated alcoholic with ties to corrupt Ukrainians as part of "Ukrainegate"。 It is rather sad and tragic with Giuliani's role in defeating the Mafia and playing midwife to the birth of a new NYC becomes occulted in reprehensible politics and Trump-worship without even the respect of inner circle Trumpists。 。。。more

I learned a lot from listening to this Audible Original。 I did not know much of the history of Rudy Giuliani and his connection to the Trump administration and this was a fascinating expose。 Looking forward to reading more from Michael Wolff。

A short, easily digestible account of Rudy Giuliani--a quick once-over of his work as New York City mayor, followed by a slightly more in depth look at his time as White House lawyer。 Much here we´ve heard before, whether from previous books or rehashing of old scandals as new ones emerge; some material we have not。 (Giuliani´s married life would make a play to rival The Six Wives of Henry VIII, in my view。) This book is vintage Michael Wolff。 I have no idea where his facts come from--he tells t A short, easily digestible account of Rudy Giuliani--a quick once-over of his work as New York City mayor, followed by a slightly more in depth look at his time as White House lawyer。 Much here we´ve heard before, whether from previous books or rehashing of old scandals as new ones emerge; some material we have not。 (Giuliani´s married life would make a play to rival The Six Wives of Henry VIII, in my view。) This book is vintage Michael Wolff。 I have no idea where his facts come from--he tells the story of Giuliani quoting sources but not revealing whether they were via interview, secondhand or what, but once you've a few pages in, you don´t care。 The ¨tragedy¨ of Giuliani strikes me as less the Shakespearean type than it does the Athenian--whatever greatness the man fell from wasn´t exactly the moral high ground to begin with。 Wolff retells the year or so Giuliani had unfettered access to Fox News and other outlets, where he was able to spin the Mueller investigation into something out of Bizarro World。 He pretty much succeeded, Wolff argues, because of a public tired of the news, not learning much about the investigation itself and the relentless buzzing emitting from President Trump´s special counsel´s cable media tour: ¨America´s mayor, speaking faster than anyone could understand, nearly screaming with self righteousness (if not coherence), clouding the arguments with innuendo, conspiracies and irrelevancies, and advancing with eye-bulging intensity legal theories that tickled the president。。。became a one-man disruption of norms and assumptions。 He was a personal Reich stag fire。 The fact that the special prosecutor。。。would not confront or even raise a public eyebrow at Giuliani。。。gave (him) standalone currency。” All of this may or may not be academic。 Trump lost the election (the only president to lose the popular vote twice since over 100 years ago--sorry MAGAts), and though he´s fighting it the only way he knows how--litigation--there doesn´t seem much chance of him remaining in the White House。 Will he be off the hook with the public? Are there charges yet to file against him? Some have argued President Elect Joe Biden should let it go; others say, No Way。 This book should remind us the story is never over。 Guys like Giuliani and Trump have fifth, sixth and seventh acts, God knows how or why。 But as a codicil to a chronicle of the Era of the Trump Presidency, this short, entertaining and infuriating account of Giuliani should stoke certain fires long enough to maybe give him and his boss some legal trouble later on。 。。。more
